Kindness

A word of thought for today: Kindness - "How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and the strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these."

#Thought for today #Effort

"I come to the office each morning and stay for long hours doing what has to be done to the best of my ability. And when you’ve done the best you can, you can’t do any better. So when I go to sleep I turn everything over to the Lord and forget it." -Harry S. Truman

Florida Hospital Waterman Awarded an “A” for Patient Safety by Hospital Safety ScoreSM

Florida Hospital Waterman Awarded an “A” for Patient Safety by Hospital Safety ScoreSM

Tavares, FL:  Florida Hospital Waterman was honored with an “A” Hospital Safety ScoreSM by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit run by employers and other large purchasers of health benefits. The Hospital Safety ScoreSM was calculated under the guidance of The Leapfrog Group’s Blue Ribbon Expert Panel using publicly available data on patient injuries, medical and medication errors, and infections. U.S. hospitals were assigned an A, B, C, D, or F for their safety.

“It’s The Leapfrog Group’s goal to give patients the information they need and deserve before even entering a hospital,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We congratulate the hospitals that earned an ‘A’ and we look forward to the day when all hospitals in the U.S. will earn the highest scores for putting patient safety first.”

Calculated under the guidance of The Leapfrog Group’s nine-member Blue Ribbon Expert Panel, the Hospital Safety Score uses 26 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to produce a single score representing a hospital’s overall capacity to keep patients safe from infections, injuries, and medical and medication errors.

“We are very excited about Florida Hospital Waterman’s “A” grade, which is reflective of our ongoing commitment to keeping patients safe by providing the highest quality of care,” says Ken Mattison, President and CEO.  “It is most gratifying to be recognized in this way for fulfilling our mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ.”
